Moving to Singapore

There is a lot to think about when moving abroad with the whole family. But after months of planning, applying for visas, looking for housing, everything is in place and now we’re (almost) packed – two bags, a baby car seat in a cardboard box, a pram and a lot of carry-on. We booked the tickets in may and after some research it turned out that almost all major airlines are the same when traveling two adults and a baby.

Emirates:
Infant: Stroller + 10kg checked in luggage
Adult: 30 kg checked in luggage

Qatar:
Infant: Stroller + 10kg checked in luggage
Adult: 30 kg checked in luggage

Lufthansa:
Infant: Stroller + 23kg checked in luggage
Adult: 23 kg checked in luggage

British Airways:
Infant: Stroller + car seat + 23kg checked in luggage
Adult: 23 kg checked in luggage

At the end of the day, the traveling time and price became the most important factors, so we decided to go with the SAS/Qatar bundle as they could guarantee that we would be seated so we got access to a baby crib onboard all long-haul flights. It feels a little bit strange to prepare the summer house for winter in 28 degrees, but now it’s done! In a couple of days we’re on our way to Singapore and for now we’ll enjoy our last few days of the incredible warm Swedish tropical summer!

Bye Umeå and Sweden,

Hello Singapore!
