Exploring Hong Kong

Kowloon

After the seminar, we moved down to Kowloon and stayed in Hong Kong over the weekend to experience some culture while here. A couple of years I did a stop-over in Hong Kong on my way back from Chengdu. Now I’m back, and this time the family could join.

Hong Kong is a vibrant city of about 7.5 million people, so just about the same size as Singapore. The first couple of nights we stayed in Sha Tin in the New Territories, this due to the proximity to The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the seminar with the other STINT Fellows from Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. After the meeting we stayed two nights in Tsim Sha Tsui, as we decided to move down to busy Kowloon for the weekend to be closer to Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island.

Michelin Star Brekkie on the last day!

During two hectic days we walked among the skyscrapers on Hong Kong Island, watched the sun set from Tsim Sha Tsui, went on the Star Ferries, did some shopping at the night markets, got lost in shopping centers and had a Michelin Star brekkie…

Here are some photos from our time in Hong Kong.
